The Ritual of Living: Finding Meaning in the Mundane
Every January brings with it a chorus of New Year’s Resolutions—dieting fads, exercise plans, and new habits to add to our schedules. With the turn of each new year comes a litany of new expectations to do better and, in effect, we end up doing more. What if we didn’t?
It’s safe to say that 2020 was an unusual year for all of us. Our lives have been disrupted and rearranged and it may be the case that the new year has done little to change that, only exacerbating the monotony of another month of Zoom calls and virtual interactions.
This email program comes as a recognition of that. We are all just doing the best that we can, so rather than prescribing more, this email series will offer ways we may find meaning in the very things we already do. We can find meaning in the mundane simply by reframing our thoughts.
Rather than routine, this is the ritual of living.
