Canterbury Club at Brent House (Episcopal)

The Canterbury Club is the student organization at Brent House, the Episcopal Center at the University of Chicago. On every Sunday throughout the academic year, Brent House has Eucharist at 5:30 pm, followed by a vegetarian home-cooked meal. Every Wednesday, Brent House is open for Afternoon Tea from 2:00-5:00 pm and evening Prayer at 5:30 pm, followed by Brentsday dinner and events at 6:00 pm. The Canterbury Club is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, including those of all religious traditions (or no religious tradition) and people of all genders and sexual orientations.

International Student Fellowship

International Student Fellowship (ISF) is a Christian ministry for international students, with a mission to provide a space where international students can explore life’s purpose and make lasting friendships. We started with a vision to love and provide a cozy community for students, a “home away from home”. ISF is affiliated with Gracepoint Chicago Church and we welcome all students from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
We also offer many helpful resources for international students including English conversation workshops, mentorship with industry professionals, and workshops on how to adjust to the US. Alongside these resources, we also offer a community aspect where we host weekly Bible Studies on Fridays and Sunday Worship Services for students who may be interested in discussing Christianity and bigger questions of life.

We are an interdenominational community of students that seeks to reflect the active love of Christ to the University of Chicago campus. A church in Woodlawn connecting the campus and the community. We welcome all students seeking to grow in community with one another as well as our community on the Southside while growing and exploring their faith. Worship with us Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM at 6414 S Cottage Grove. We also have Bible studies on Tuesdays at our building in Woodlawn or Thursdays at 57/Kenwood in Hyde Park. In addition, we have an array of opportunities to serve and volunteer as mentor/tutor in our community in our after school program: Hope Scholars. Makenew Christian Fellowship is a registered religious group open to all University of Chicago students and is a ministry of Gracepoint Chicago Church.

We are a pan-Orthodox group of students who meet for worship, spiritual development and support. Our mission is to unite members through community life, service and study while bearing witness to the unique message of the Orthodox Christian Faith.
Members of UChicago OCF attend various Orthodox churches throughout Chicago, but you’ll find most of us at St. Makarios Orthodox Mission in Hyde Park.

Tuesday mornings during the academic year: Bond Chapel — 7:30am – 8am
We are a group of Christian faculty, researchers, and graduate students who meet weekly to pray together and encourage one another. We begin by sharing joys, struggles, and concerns. We then read Psalms responsively before closing with a time of corporate, intercessory prayer. Once per quarter, we gather for a Sunday evening vesper service in Bond. We seek to build a campus community where Christians from all backgrounds can grow in Christ as they love, support, and encourage one another.
Rockefeller Chapel (Sunday worship at Rockefeller—interdenominational)

On Sunday mornings at 11 am, we celebrate a broadly Christian liturgy in a rhythm dating to 1928: ecumenical worship with readings from many world traditions and sermons from community and faculty leaders. Communion is offered freely to all who choose to receive. In-person services are temporarily suspended, but you may visit the virtual chapel.
